Character In The Spotlight: Astoria Greengrass Malfoy

Astoria Greengrass is from Harry Potter, though she was never actually mentioned in any of the seven books, other than appearing in the epilogue of Deathly Hallows as “his [Draco’s] wife.”

So this is mostly going to be about my own thoughts and opinions on her.

I think she had similar parents as Draco, though maybe they weren’t as strict, and she also has an older sister (Daphne Greengrass, who was mentioned in the series).

I think Astoria was sorted into Slytherin but never actually hung out with people like Draco, Pansy, Crabbe, Goyle, or even her sister, very often, but she probably at least knew the names of Draco, Pansy, Crabbe, and Goyle. She probably thought about what her parents told her about blood purity but questioned their beliefs and was generally a nice person and had non-pureblood and non-Slytherin friends.

When she was fifteen, the Death Eaters fought against Hogwarts (Deathly Hallows). Astoria was probably one of the people who fought against them for Hogwarts.

After Deathly Hallows, she completely threw away her parents’ beliefs and became a full blood traitor.

She realized that Draco was struggling with the aftermath, and she wanted to help him, but at first, she just let him have some time to himself and his parents (she would also only be fifteen, while Draco would be seventeen).

Eventually, Draco and Astoria would start talking, at first about random normal things, but after a while, Draco would be comfortable enough opening up to her about more personal things and letting her help him.

He would soon become a full blood traitor as well (he started questioning his parents beliefs during the battle).

Astoria would be very patient, soft, and caring with him, but she wouldn’t be afraid to yell at him if she had to. As a married couple, this would be the same way (but Astoria would yell at him a lot more). She definitely has to be really strong to be able to put up with him 24/7!

Draco’s parents also didn’t like that he got married to her-a blood traitor, so he stood up to them.

Astoria would also stand up to other people for him if they ever judged him or talked badly about him for his past as a Death Eater.

When Astoria and Draco had a son, they raised him to also be a blood traitor and to just generally be a really nice person, unlike how Draco was when he was a kid.

When Astoria died (August 2019), Draco and Scorpius were really heartbroken, but they’d still remember all the happy memories they had with her. Draco continued to be an amazing father to Scorpius.

This Character Spotlight was a bit… different… but hopefully it’s still good! Next character: Twitch from Survivors!
